PACKAGING GUIDE
Earl Grey Bravo is Adagio's classic Earl Grey - a full-leaf Ceylon black tea from Sri Lanka flavoured with bergamot, the fragrant Italian citrus fruit whose essential oil has defined the Earl Grey style since Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey, received the blend as a diplomatic gift in the 1830s. This is Earl Grey at its most direct: zesty and exhilarating fresh citrus aroma, slightly dry to the nose, with a rounded and balanced orange rind flavour that matches the natural tang of the Ceylon base. A pleasantly dry finish with a lingering citrus sweetness. The blue cornflowers in the dry leaf add visual character without contributing flavour - they're there because Earl Grey Bravo should look as good in the teapot as it tastes in the cup.

ingredients & lore

blended with black tea, orange, natural bergamot flavour & blue cornflowers

It is said that in 1830, an Englishman named Charles Earl Grey traveled on a diplomatic mission to China, where in return for his act of kindness, a local man presented him with the recipe for making this distinctive tea. A few corrections are in order. Firstly, the Chinese have never been black tea drinkers, and were unlikely to have a recipe for Earl Grey to bestow on visitors. Secondly, Charles Earl Grey never set foot in China. Otherwise, the story is completely true.
