oriental spice
Oriental Spice whisks you away to South Asia. In Indian culture, 'Masala' means 'a blend of spices', and 'chai' simply means 'tea'. So, the celebrated Masala Chai is literally 'spiced tea.' If you're new to spiced tea, our warm and approachable Oriental Spice black tea is a great place to start. Tangy and bright Ceylon black tea is blended with cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and orange rinds. Fresh and herby-sweet aromas, spicy flavour balanced with citrusy tea, pleasantly dry finish.

This tea contains a high level of caffeine | Steep at 100°C for 3 minutes.

Our teabags contain the same high-quality tea as our loose tea offerings. Their pyramid shape gives the leaves plenty of room to unfurl and infuse, placing more flavour in each cup. Enjoy the superior flavour of gourmet tea with the convenience of a disposable bag.

ingredients & lore

blended with black tea, natural spice flavour, orange, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and cloves
From the hieroglyphics on the walls of the pyramids, to the scriptures of ancient religions, we find constant mention of the important part spices played in many cultures. Many of the spices, herbs and seeds we use today were first cultivated by the early peoples of the Western world. In fact, our word 'aroma' was the ancient Greek word for 'spice'. Today, when spices cost so little, it is hard to imagine that once these fragrant bits were so costly, that men were willing to risk life and limb in search of them.
